Once again, a set from a new member has caught our attention and deserves an ovation. A first glance at the images from designer Katerina Krasikova’s set shows that we are dealing with a colorfully conceived week of life that reveals a tremendous amount of information about the author, notably the fact that she likes to search for interesting moments through the viewfinder of her camera and is able to capture them in a unique fashion. While documenting these seven days of life, Katerina was certainly not bored and neither will you be as you browse through her set.

Mé souznění s festivalem
Karlovy Vary International Film Festival has celebrated its 45th anniversary this year and the attendance was more than ample. Every year, the city of Karlovy Vary is a host to thousands of visitors who wish to see various genres of film, perhaps meet and even mingle with a celebrity at the bar, but most of all, enjoy themselves to the fullest extent. How does this ‘festival joyride’ look? This has been masterfully documented in the week of David Papanek, whose ordinary life crossed paths with life of a festival for several days; in a week where he captured his interconnection with the IFFKV festival, as he himself calls it, on celluloid film as well as in digital form, giving us the possibility to enjoy this festival rush in dual format.

Polodovolenkový
It’s difficult to say if it is due to the profession of a graphic designer or the hobby of painting, but the photographs of Jana Melišová, at first sight characteristic for their detail orientation, conceal a lot of emotions within them and we can only tell ourselves what a pity it is that this week hadn’t appeared on the website sooner when we were selecting pictures for the Phototopic named Emotions. We are also excited about the prospect of an increasing number of members from Slovakia and Russia, giving us the possibility to compare photographic styles of individual nations. Believe it or not, each has its specific approach and perception of their surroundings.

Týden skoro celý na kolejích
How does a person live when his profession grants him the power to handle a several hundred tons colossal machine with bare hands and at the same time be responsible for tens of people’s lives? Even though his first week ranked amongst the more interesting sets, we did not really get to learn much about the life of train operator Roman Jaroš, who documented his travels to Morocco. He then stopped contributing for some time and it goes without saying that his comeback in form of documenting ordinary life was more than a success. Roman is gifted not only in the matters of joy and sense of humor, but was also given a great photographic talent, proudly represented in his Week ‘on the tracks’.

Four - Week of Hot Dispair... and some kids :-)
How can we be masters of our own time and alone decide when to start working and when to finish? The answer is perfectly demonstrated in the week of Veronika Susmannová, whose profession as a translator gives her a certain amount of freedom and fills her weeks with a different flavor every time. Her weeks are interesting typically due to their richness in color and especially the details, perhaps so very emphasized due to her spending vast amounts of time at the computer, focusing on the items that surround her. And when a person gets a little creative when documenting them, we can witness some fascinating sets, just like in the case of Veronika.
