This is another clever way how to depict our routine as well as the uncommon parts of our lives.

Photos of Juraj Sucharda hide one little surprise. We can fully appreciate them only after we open them in full view, because only then we can fully enjoy them in their raw beauty. Mr Sucharda focused on details of everyday life and with tenderness so typical for him he managed to create a complete week that not just maps his life but it also brings very enjoyable photos to watch.

There is no doubt about Mr. Zdeněk Dvořák’s photography skills. There is no reason to emphasize that all weeks from Mr. Dvořák have something special that makes them unforgettable. But today, he is in Editor’s choice for a different reason. We appreciate that even though he captured so many weeks, he still keeps in mind the Week of Life guidelines. It is important to be aware of the main idea of this project. And Mr. Dvořák is very well aware of that. Week of Life is not just fun, it is above all a mission.

Haiti / Miami ... worlds apart
Today’s editor’s choice relates to an event that has shaken the world and has affected hundreds of thousands of lives and will probably affect even more in the future. Yes, your guess is correct, we’re talking about the earthquake in Haiti. One Week of Life member, photographer Tomas Loewy, set out to Haiti while capturing another of his week of neverending parties. Thanks to this, his week has a very interesting character, which is contrast. Entertainment and human suffering.

Zdeněk Dvořák documented already the third week of his life and once again his sense for people and photography took our breath away. It may seem that he cannot surprise us with anything but the power of life, which literally gushes from his weeks, is so great that one cannot get tired of them. It’s said that not even the best equipment will make you a photographer, you must have it in you. Without a doubt, Mr. Dvořák has this gift.
