My first week
Stepanka Fischerova, a new member in the project, has presented her first week and named it ‘My first week’. By doing so, she joined one of the biggest groups in the project – students. On several occasions, we have witnessed that students share a fresh and unique take on things, applicable to photography as well. Stepanka is not an exception and through her cell phone camera, she captured interesting images from her life and presented them in black and white form. Don’t look for technically perfect images; rather focus on the captured moments you hardly experience once you cross over to the life of an adult.

time flies
Jan Skalican is one of the acclaimed Week of Life Masters and has proven to us once again that he is worthy of such a title. This time, he has presented his 28th week with the name ‘time flies’. Jan was never in favor of perfection in terms of sharpness or quality, which is often unthinkable for other photographers and their publications. His photographs are however filled with another important characteristic and that is strong emotions, something not everyone is able to fit into their work. This week and today’s selection is a perfect example.

St.Petersburg. Week 1
Today, the Editor’s Choice travels east across the Czech and Slovak borders all the way to Yulia Shipova, a fashion designer from Russia. She has more than 20 weeks in her portfolio and was part of the Russian boom in the Week of Life project some time ago. She returns to WoL after a 10-month pause with an action-filled week named St. Petersburg, Week 1, capturing this beautiful city with a full dose of creativity. The number 1 signifies that this will not be the only week from St. Petersburg and in Yulia’s case, that is a good sign for all of us.

A kruh se uzavřel ...
And the circle has closed…, name of Zdenek Kamrla’s week and the last week in his Year of Life as a member of the Week of Life project. Zdenek is known for his tendency to experiment, which he has shown on several occasions throughout the year. It wouldn’t be the Zdenek Kamrla we know if he hadn’t played with his photos and weeks, different photographic equipment or even the statistics of the project, which are well worth reading. All of us at Week of Life and surely most of you, members of WoL, are eager to wait if Zdenek continues in documenting his life even after finishing a whole year. We certainly hope so, as it would be a shame if he stoped.

64
Jirka Skaloud likes to experiment in his weeks and during his last vacation, he enjoyed his free time with a pinhole camera. He already showed us what he enjoys in the previous week named 63 – Holiday pinhole fun. In the following week, labeled only with the number 64, Jirka continues to document the first day in the oldest photographic technology available, while the rest of the week is captured with modern technology, used by the vast majority of members. As a result, we have a very appealing contrast of technologies and how one can document life.
