Dvanásty nad osemnásť s PENom
The week of Monika Suchardová called 'Nineteenth and above 18 with a PEN' is extraordinary and differs from her previous work. Firstly, she used a different camera, one that Monika apparently adores, but more importantly in what Monika and her family had gone through during the week. Family responsibilities, exams at school or numerous doctors' visits are the main topic of her week next to the usual everyday activities. We hope that her next week comes right away, so that we can be sure everything went well at the doctors'. Congratulations to Monika for rightfully being selected for today's Editor's Choice.

První týden
Details, details and more details. That is the recognizable trait of student Anna Poláková and her first week. There are many ways of capturing our seven days of life. Some weeks are full of people and their surroundings, others are filled with small individual details captured from up close. Anna selected the second option, however, she did it in such a style that in between all the close-ups, she was able to fit in and show us the important things in her life. We look forward to her second week that will hopefully uncover more of her youthful student life.

Březen 2011
Taking care of children is a beautiful moment in our lives, but at the same time it is a very demanding period. Being on 'maternal leave' may sound as vacation from work, however we all know that in this case, the word 'vacation' takes on a whole new different meaning. The everyday attention and care for children as well as the rest of the family may seem as a never ending cycle of repeating activities, so any kind of distraction is welcome. A camera to document life for our project seems to be a popular option, resulting in several 'motherly' weeks full of love and emotions. One of these sets has recently caught our attention, where Barbara Havlíková used her photographic vision and put together a great document of her family, her 11 th set overall.

S WoL podruhé...
To do certain activities, we are usually motivated by the things around us. We like to be inspired by our surroundings and the same applies to the WoL project. A time comes when we finally decide to document our life in a photographic set. This time it was Lenka Dvořáková who found the inspiration in her husband Zdeněk. The fact that their styles are almost identical is truly unbelievable. Is it the technique, the vision or the inspiration? All of these play some kind of a role but all we know for sure is that Zdeněk now has a serious competitor at home. In any case, together they are creating a document of life from two perspectives, showing us their individual takes on the joys and sorrows of the everyday life.

Mise SOMALIA Border
For most people, Africa is the continent of elephants, lions, giraffes or zebras, usually seen from the safety of a jeep on a safari ride. It is a beautiful continent, but many of its inhabitants live a cruel life. Millions suffer from starvation, lack of water or diseases, leaving education and an everyday meal a matter of dreams and imagination. Jiří Pergl is a man who could live a normal life in peace, but he decided to help out even if it meant a long, stressful and dangerous journey. Through the OMDC foundation, he helps children in Kenya and thanks to his documented sets we have the chance to follow his progress. His next week called The Somalia border mission is rightfully the next Editor's Choice.
