Anyone who follows Jiri Skaloud’s weeks knows that he likes to experiment with photography and prefers square format most of all. This means you need to go through his weeks picture by picture, in order to see all the details and corners of the image, sometimes hidden in the preview format of individual days. Format isn’t the only thing Jiri likes to play with; he also likes to combine color with black and white images. As a whole, his week named Forty fourth is extremely varied and even gives us a hint of what might come in his future weeks – playful experiments with Dirkon, the legendary paper camera.

The spring is here in all its beauty and the sun has given all of us energy, or so it seems in the incoming weeks, as they look merrier and more positive. The spring mood has caught up with Miroslava Majkovič, who is today’s selection with her third week named 3. packed with work. The fact that the sun gives us all energy is evident from this set. Nearly each day has an image that involves either the sun or the blue sky. The entire week is not only interesting content wise, but also with its slight hint of editing, which gives this week the correct spring atmosphere.

Sabrinka, the railroad, animals and beer – this is the name of Romans Jaros’ sixth week, which tells us the main themes of this week. Images are very diverse, but Roman managed to assemble them into a very interesting unit, along with all the other usual moments in his life. This mixture of a set offers a wide range of photos starting from different types of animals such as the elephant, ostrich or a large snail, all the way to typical images from Roman’s job at the railway as a train operator, combined with pictures of his children and the occasional beer. The only thing we could slightly criticize is the frequency in which Roman submits his weeks. It’s a shame, since his sets are really something.

Analog's Not Dead! - Lomo Fisheye & Matchbox Pinhole Week
Digital photography has been crushing analog photography for many years now and not only with digital cameras, but also with cameras installed in cell phones. Many of us were quick to adapt and got used to checking the display immediately after making the shot, adjusting the resolution or noise. Some, however, did not fall under the spell of the pixel mania and stayed fond of film. The market is filled with different options of using film and Martina Teislerova decided to have fun with it in her sixth week called Analog's Not Dead! - Lomo Fisheye & Matchbox Pinhole Week. The name suggests the way in which she documented her latest week. It’s a wonderful week to look at and an invitation to see what Martina will come up with next.

Frantisek Vrba is another in the line of Week of Life members who stayed away from the project for some time only to come back and continue documenting their life once again. His weeks are always interesting and it certainly isn’t enough to just go day by day. You need to look through them individually, but be careful, you might find yourself stunned. The fact that Frantisek likes black and white photography is evident and it can be seen in almost every image. His sixth week in his B&W collection is different only for its slight touch of red in some photographs. Once again, the author managed to pull off several perfect images, suitable for display in large format.
