Today, the Editor’s Choice goes to yet another newcomer to the Week of Life project. This time, it’s Martina Mecerova who decided to capture her first week of life on camera during late June / early July and named it First – WoL, KVIFF, CPM, in which she documented the atmosphere of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival or a change of professions. It was the right choice to start documenting during these days, making her entry week a success. Let this selection be the right positive energy she needs to document many more weeks for the good of herself as well as for other members of the project.

1. The one I talked about for a long time and finally picked up the camera :-) – this is the long yet accurate name given to a week from the author, a woman on maternal leave, who introduced herself under the pseudonym RomanZa. This author is obviously not new to the world of photography and has great sense for detail. Besides the interesting content, we have to recognize the author’s will to start being a photographer, instead of remaining a spectator. The Week of Life project is watched and followed by many members, who still only follow lives of others and are yet to submit their own weeks. Hopefully, this week will be an inspiration to these members to document their first sets of 6 photographs. By doing so, you all enrich this project, as well as your fellow members and other spectators!

The summer has begun and many of us have finally found the time to enjoy our long awaited holiday. Gabriela Adamkova works as a teacher and for her first attempt in the project, she did not choose a holiday week, but her last week at school before the summer. Based on the photographs this week was more than interesting and Gabriela decided to call it ‘1 st try’. It is evident she focused on details from her everyday life, documenting everything that surrounds her, but at the same time she was able to show us exactly what Gabriela was up to during these 7 days.

Child birth belongs among the most emotional topics documented in the Week of Life project. We now have several “WoL babies”, yet it still remains a very rare and extraordinary topic worth showing. And now it is the time for Dalibor Adamus’ week and his newborn, a long awaited moment after many weeks of preparations. The belly was getting larger and many of us were becoming restless, waiting for the week when it all happens. D-Day came in Dalibor’s 25 th week and the name is quite striking – Finally we’re three. We wish the whole family all the best as well as many more documented weeks in the future.

Jan Zeman has been a member of this project for only 4 months and already has 15 weeks on his profile. His weeks are all numbered in a precise numerical series, a typical and recognizable signature of this author. It almost seems as a banality to say that all of you are constantly improving! Jan is one of the examples and his 15 th week in the series has attracted our attention so much, that we had to award him the Editor’s Choice for today. Perhaps there is only one small thing to criticize. Jan’s week would be even better with at least a small description beneath each day.
